5. Management and operations

Project leadership:​

Nick Lieurance, Founder & Sole Provider: Responsible for all client care, operations, community outreach, and partnership development. Nick brings a lifetime of experience with cats, dogs, and other pets. He has worked with reactive dogs and attended training to learn how to manage reactivity.

Legal & safety framework:​

  • Legal entity: Everybody’s Pet Care, LLC – registered in the state of Colorado to provide liability protection and operational clarity.
  • Insurance & bonding: Comprehensive pet-sitter liability insurance and a surety bond for client peace of mind.
  • Licensing: Full compliance with Fort Collins, Colorado business licensing requirements.
  • Safety protocols: Detailed client/pet intake profiles, service agreements, liability waivers, and proof of pet vaccinations required.

Fiscal sponsorship model:​

  • This project seeks a formal partnership with a 501(c)(3) organization to serve as Fiscal Sponsor.
  • The Fiscal Sponsor receives grants and tax-deductible donations designated for “Everybody’s Pet Care,” holds funds in a restricted account, and provides donors with tax receipts.
  • Everybody’s Pet Care, LLC performs all program services and tracks related expenses.
  • Nick Lieurance submits documentation for pre-approved mission expenses (e.g., supplies, mileage, and a portion of time dedicated to subsidized care) to the sponsor for reimbursement.
  • This model ensures financial transparency, allows tax-deductible giving, and keeps the project focused on service delivery.
